Induction loop: Accessible communication for hearing aid users

The INTECH-ICS AG offers an innovative solution for supporting people with hearing impairments with the Hearing Loop. This system allows users of hearing aids to conduct conversations at counters and information points clearly and without disruptive background noise.
Functionality of the Hearing Loop
The Hearing Loop, also known as an induction loop or Hearing Loop, transmits audio signals wirelessly to hearing aids with an integrated telephone coil (T-coil). A microphone captures the employee's speech, and an induction amplifier converts this into a magnetic field that is received by the T-coil in the hearing aid. This enables a direct and clear transmission of the spoken word without disruptive background noise.
Legal Requirements and Standards
According to the regulation of the UVEK on the technical requirements for the accessible design of public transport (Art. 5, para.7) Switch systems with intercom devices must be equipped with at least one switch (or 20% of all switches) with an induction loop for hearing-impaired individuals and must be appropriately marked. The hearing loop from INTECH-ICS AG meets these requirements and complies with the standards SN EN 60118-4:2015+A1:2018 and SIA 500 "Barrier-free Buildings".
Advantages of the hearing loop
-
Barrier-free communication: Enables hearing aid users to communicate clearly at switches and information points.
-
Easy integration: Can usually be integrated into existing switch systems with intercom devices.
-
Compliance with legal requirements: Supports operators in implementing accessibility standards and legal requirements.
