New locking facility in Winterthur station
SBB CFF FFS and INTECH-ICS AG have been working on new locker systems for customers for years. The latest locker system is now in Winterthur.
Just in time for the 2022 timetable change, the SBB was able to take over the new locker system in the new underpass at Winterthur station. Customers can now deposit their luggage - be it small or large bags - centrally at Winterthur station. The lockers are handled centrally via a payment point.
It accepts CHF coins and the most common credit cards. A big advantage is that the lockers can be operated without a key. A receipt with a barcode is created, which can be used to unlock the selected locker.
If a ticket is lost, there is no need to replace the lock, but SBB employees have the option of printing a duplicate for a fee so that the customer can redeem their luggage again.
