New locker system at Winterthur station
The SBB CFF FFS and the company INTECH-ICS AG have been working for years on the new locker systems for customers. The latest locker system is now located in Winterthur.
On time for the timetable change in 2022, the SBB was able to take over the new locker system in the new underpass at Winterthur station. Customers can now deposit their luggage – whether small or large bags – centrally at Winterthur station. The lockers are managed centrally via a payment terminal.
It accepts CHF coins and the most common credit cards. A major advantage is that the lockers can be operated without keys. A receipt with a barcode is generated, which can be used to retrieve the selected locker.
In case of a lost ticket, there is no need to change a lock; instead, SBB staff have the option to print a duplicate for a fee, allowing the customer to retrieve their luggage.
