Aside from blocking the view of the store, the grille has given the store owner a false sense of security in many cases, as it can be easily removed with the help of a chain attached to the vehicle's tow hitch. Hammerglass ADD-ON is the burglary protection that remains permanently in place.

Recommended alternative to grilles and shutters

Hammerglass ADD-ON consists of a Hammerglass pane in a steel profile, which can be installed both inside and outside on existing fixed or operable windows and doors. The system provides effective protection against burglars.The ADD-ON profile made of cold-rolled steel protects and reinforces existing wooden frames and significantly complicates break-in attempts. In the event of a break-in attempt, the material offers no leverage, as the steel profile only gives way at the point of forced entry, unlike the stiffer aluminum profiles that can be bent when a tool is pressed under the profile. The system also provides energy savings and improvements in the U-value, as well as a noise reduction of 30 dBRw. ADD-ON is certified for protection up to security class P8B and is recommended by insurance companies as an alternative to theft protection grilles and roller shutters.

Installation and warranty

Hammerglass ADD-ON is installed only by recommended installers to ensure the highest quality. The glazing material consists of 6 mm or 8 mm Hammerglass (10 mm or 12 mm Hammerglass for larger windows).The Hammerglass is glued along the edge and then screwed through the steel profile to ensure an optimal result and secure hold. The installation does not further affect the existing architecture. All Hammerglass panes are laser-marked with a logo and a production number to ensure traceability for internal quality assurance and safety in case of warranty issues.
