Knowing that grilles and shutters can easily be bypassed by resourceful criminals, Hammerglass offers "The Invisible Shutter" - Hammerglass ADD-ON. Besides obstructing the view of the store, the grille has often given the shopkeeper a false sense of security, as it can be easily removed with a chain attached to the vehicle's tow bar. Hammerglass ADD-ON is the burglar protection that stays permanently in place.

Recommended alternative to grilles and shutters

Hammerglass ADD-ON consists of a Hammerglass pane in a steel profile that can be installed both inside and outside existing fixed or opening windows and doors. The system offers effective protection against burglars. The cold-rolled steel ADD-ON profile protects and reinforces existing timber frames, significantly complicating break-in attempts. In the event of a break-in attempt, the material offers no leverage, as the steel profile only yields at the point of entry, unlike more rigid aluminum profiles, which can be bent open when a tool is forced under the profile. The system also provides energy savings and U-value improvements, as well as a noise reduction of 30 dBRw. ADD-ON is certified for protection up to security class P8B and is recommended by insurance companies as an alternative to anti-theft grilles and roller shutters.

Installation and warranty

Hammerglass ADD-ON is installed only by approved installers to ensure the highest quality. The glazing material consists of 6 mm or 8 mm Hammerglass (10 mm or 12 mm Hammerglass for larger windows). The Hammerglass is bonded along the edge and then screwed through the steel profile to ensure optimal performance and a secure fit. Installation does not further disrupt the existing architecture. All Hammerglass panes are laser-marked with a logo and production number to ensure traceability for internal quality assurance and peace of mind in the event of warranty issues.
