SSA Seawater Submersible LVDT Displacement Transducer
These measuring transducers are used for distance/position measurement. They perform an accurate position measurement of the movement of the anchor (the sliding part) relative to the body of the displacement transducer.
This measuring transducer uses the LVDT principle (Linear Variable Differential Transformer), which means it is likely the most robust and reliable type of position sensor on the market. The strength of the LVDT sensor principle lies in the fact that there is no electrical contact through the position sensing element of the displacement transducer, which means clean data, infinite resolution, and a very long lifespan for the user of the sensor.
Our submersible displacement transducers are designed to take measurements while immersed in suitable liquids.Non-magnetic liquids can flood the anchor tube without affecting the operation of the transducer.
The SS series LVDTs are specifically designed for use in seawater and heavy industrial environments with some corrosive chemicals. These LVDTs are made from welded stainless steel 316 and feature a through-hole as well as a very robust construction. Therefore, the SS series LVDTs are capable of withstanding the most challenging industrial applications as well as 10 years of submersion in seawater at depths of up to 2.3 km.
