D5W Submersible LVDT Displacement Transducer
These sensors are used for displacement/position measurement. They carry out an accurate position measurement of the movement of the armature (the sliding part) relative to the body of the displacement sensor.
This transducer uses the LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) principle, which means it is probably the most robust and reliable type of position sensor on the market. The strength of the LVDT sensor principle is that there is no electrical contact across the position sensing element of the transducer, which means clean data, infinite resolution and a very long lifetime for the user of the sensor.
Our submersible displacement transducers are designed to take measurements while immersed in suitable fluids. Fluids that are non-magnetic can flood the armature tube without affecting the operation of the transducer.
The LVDTs are available as either unguided or spring-loaded versions.
