LIN Extreme Environment Displacement Transducer
These transducers are used for displacement/position measurement. They perform precise position measurement of the movement of the armature (the sliding part) relative to the body of the transducer.
LIN differential inductance LVDTs are inductive (similar to an LVDT sensor), and since there is no contact across the sensing element, they are very robust. The LVDTs are available in either unguided or spring-return versions.
This sensor is suitable for position measurement applications involving high temperatures, high pressures, and high levels of nuclear radiation. Many applications in turbines, nuclear power plants, and research laboratories are suitable for this sensor.
