LIN Extreme Environment Displacement Transducer
These sensors are used for displacement/position measurement. They carry out an accurate position measurement of the movement of the armature (the sliding part) relative to the body of the displacement sensor.
The LIN differential inductance LVDTs are inductive (similar to an LVDT sensor) and since there is no contact across the sensing element, they are very robust. The LVDTs are available in either unguided or spring-return versions.
This sensor is suitable for position measurement applications with high temperature, high pressure and high nuclear radiation. Many applications in turbines, in nuclear power plants and in research laboratories are suitable for this sensor.
