PY Extreme Environment Non-Contact Displacement Transducer
The PY non-contact displacement sensor measures the distance between its face and a target made of ferritic material. A ferritic material is a material that is attracted to a magnet.
This sensor is suitable for position measurements at high temperatures, high pressures, and high levels of nuclear radiation. Many applications in turbines, nuclear power plants, and research laboratories are suitable for this sensor.
There are two types of PY transducers, a single coil version (which must be used in pairs) and a dual coil version which can be used alone.
Since the PY's output signal is non-linear, linearization may be necessary depending on the application. Our 615 amplifier is designed for this purpose.
